Born and raised on a farm in Zimbabwe, my weekends and school holidays were spent in the hills or along the rivers of the family farm. Pencil is my medium of choice as it is a direct medium through which I can express the tones, contrasts and textures of my subjects. I aim to capture those moments which represent the essence of the African outdoor experience. I am inspired by the textures of nature and pencil allows me to incrementally build those textures out of my paper. Each piece is a representation of my own personal experience and I will always endeavor to experience firsthand everything that I draw.
